Alaska state flag framed meaning

This state flag is dark blue and consists of eight stars of gold which form the Big Dipper and the North Star. The Big Dipper is part of the constellation Ursa Major which represents a bear, an animal indigenous to Alaska. The blue field symbolizes the Alaskan sky and the Forget-me-not, the state flower. The stars on the flag were designed to be used to locate Polaris serving as a guide to True North.
